Principles of Character Animation Unit-The Button Girl Texture Text

First Attempt

First, I added colors to the scene where the villagers gathered, creating a version where the villagers’ faces were all hand-drawn. Then I replaced the villagers’ faces in this version with button images. After discussion, we found that this would make the villagers look more mechanical and strange. So finally, we decided to use real buttons instead of the hand-drawn.

And both I and my team members thought that the pictures of the buttons used in this version were not appealing. So I re-shot the pictures of the buttons.

At the same time, we think that the color of this version is too dark and dull. After discussion, we decided to try re-coloring it to make the black and white contrast more obvious, and also to attempt to enhance the texture of the pencil drawing.

I took pictures of the buttons on my sweater and did a photo editing. I adjusted the parameters for the black and white contrast of the buttons to make the originally darker color of the buttons turn slightly gray. I also adjusted the contrast between light and dark to make the highlights of the buttons more prominent and give them a more button-like texture.

This is the final coloring and material application.
